As a couple, Sarah and Chris are two of the sweetest and kindest clients I’ve ever had a chance to work with. These two have a special way of making everyone around them feel important, heard, and cherished.❤️ With that in mind it should come as no surprise that they and their guests went ALL OUT when it came time to celebrate their wedding day at Fairlie in Chicago! So without further ado, let’s dive into their absolutely iconic wedding day in the Windy City!!

Getting Ready and First Looks

Sarah and Chris started their wedding day off similarly, both getting ready with their closest friends and family at a hotel in Chicago. There’s no better way to hype yourself up before your wedding day than in the company of your favorite people. You could honestly feel the hype, love, and excitement in the air as these two and their friends and family prepared for their wedding day at Fairlie in Chicago.

Once ready Sarah had a moment for a first look with her father which was SO sweet and emotional for the two of them. Yes, we did have to bust out some tissues early!! After that though it was time for Sarah and Chris to meet up for their first look on a balcony at the hotel. Looking out over the Chicago skyline the two saw one another for the first time and were quite literally beaming with joy! The two shared an intimate moment with one another reading their vows before we hopped on a party bus with their wedding party and made our way to their ceremony.✨

Their Ceremony at the Lincoln Park Honeycomb

If you’ve been following me and reading my blogs for a bit you may remember that Lincoln Park and the Honeycomb made my list of iconic locations in Chicago for wedding portraits! Sarah and Chris took this one step further though, having their ceremony at the Honeycomb which was beyond breathtaking!! Adding to just how incredible this moment was, the officiant for their ceremony was Sarah’s Aunt, which added a special personal touch to the ceremony. After their ceremony, we of course had to take advantage of our GORGEOUS setting!😍 We captured family portraits, wedding party portraits, and newlywed portraits while in Lincoln Park and they turned out stunning!

After the ceremony it was time to head to Fairlie for their reception, but not before a quick pit stop at the Chicago bar where Sarah and Chris shared their first kiss, Glascott’s Saloon! The two newlyweds and their wedding party all stopped in the saloon for a quick drink as well as a bit of celebrating, but before long we had to head out to get the REAL party underway!

Wedding Reception at Fairlie

Fairlie in Chicago is easily one of my favorite wedding venues in the city. The space on its own is beautiful, and with flowers from Busy Bee’s Floral decorating the reception space, it really did become a breathtaking space for Sarah and Chris to celebrate with their people!🤩 Their night was filled with highlights. From the memorable speeches (one even from Sarah and Chris, to the dance floor that was packed the entire night, it really was a true celebration of their love for one another! One especially sweet highlight was their wedding cake, which was a chocolate cake from Portillo's which Chris absolutely adores! Of course, we had to sneak out during the reception for some sunset portraits, but otherwise, Sarah and Chris did not leave the dance floor and neither did their guests!!

Being able to capture Sarah and Chris’ wedding day at Fairlie in Chicago was honestly a dream come true! These two crafted such a beautiful day and I’m so happy to have been a part of it!!
